How To Use: Hot, Iced, or Frothed

Turkish delight syrup is a lot more versatile than people expect. Here's a few ways to use it.

In a latte or flat white

  • Add 15 mL of syrup to your cup before pulling your espresso shot over the top.
  • Add steamed milk, give it a gentle stir, and you're done.
  • For something a little richer, try it with oat milk the creaminess pairs really well with the rosewater.

Iced or blended

  • Add 15--20 mL of syrup to a glass of ice, pour your cold brew or espresso over the top, then fill with cold milk.
  • For a frappe, blend everything together until smooth. Garnish with a little rose petal if you're feeling fancy.

As a cocktail mixer

  • Mix with vodka and soda water for a Turkish Delight Fizz  it's a proper crowd-pleaser. Check out the full recipe on the Cashmere blog.
  • Also works in mocktails with sparkling water and a squeeze of lemon.

Tasting Notes

The flavour is unmistakably Turkish delight, that soft, sweet, floral hit you get from rosewater, without being overpowering or perfume-y. It's delicate but present. In a latte, it adds a layer of sweetness that's a bit more interesting than vanilla or caramel, and the floral note comes through most clearly in the aftertaste. The aroma is honestly half the appeal, your cup will smell incredible.

It pairs best with lighter roast coffees where the floral notes don't get drowned out. If you usually drink a strong dark roast, you might want to up the syrup to 20 mL to let it come through. Love florals? You'd probably also enjoy the Cashmere Syrups range of unique flavours -- there are a few others in there worth trying.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Turkish delight coffee syrup taste like?

It's floral and sweet, think rosewater, like the soft jelly confection you'd find in a box of Turkish delight. Not soapy or overwhelming, just a gentle floral sweetness that sits really nicely against espresso and milk. If you've never had rosewater in a drink before, start with 10--15 mL and go from there.

How much syrup should I add to my coffee?

Start at 15 mL, which is one standard pump. Turkish delight is a softer flavour, so if you're using a dark roast coffee, you might want to bump it up to 20 mL so it comes through. For iced drinks, 20--25 mL works well since the ice dilutes it a bit.

Can I use it in drinks other than coffee?

Absolutely. It's brilliant in sparkling water as a light floral cordial, and it works really well in cocktails with vodka and soda. There's a Turkish Delight Fizz recipe on the blog if you want something to try straight away.

How many serves in a bottle?

Around 50 serves at 15 mL per pour. That's a pretty solid run for a 750 mL bottle, and it's why the Cashmere Syrups coffee syrup range is such good value compared to buying flavoured drinks out.

What coffee does it pair best with?

Light to medium roast works best; the floral notes have more room to shine when the coffee isn't too bitter or heavy. That said, plenty of people love it in a strong flat white too. It's worth experimenting to find your sweet spot.
