Black cherry and coffee shouldn't work as well as they do. But one pump of this black cherry coffee syrup into your morning latte and you'll wonder why you didn't try it sooner. It's smooth, a little sweet, and has that deep, slightly tart cherry hit that cuts through milk beautifully. Not candy-sweet. Not fake-fruity. Just proper black cherry flavour that makes your coffee taste like something you'd pay way too much for at a café.
Works in hot drinks, iced drinks, milkshakes, and honestly, over ice cream. Up to 50 serves per bottle too, so it lasts.
I’ve never found a black cherry syrup since I’ve been in Australia. Now I’m in heaven. It’s so delicious on ice cream. Add it to a cola drink or just have it in Soda water. Great product.
We use the Black Cherry Coffee syrup in our signature Cold Brew Cherry Tonic with Vietnamese robusta bean cold brew, cherry syrup, tonic water and ice! It's very refreshing.
As with the Turkish delight, I hesitated with this one initially, but was pleasantly surprised with the taste. I wasn't sure that cherry would go great in coffee, but it does. This one is the most versatile of all the flavours for me, while butterscotch is my favourite in coffee and gingerbread is my favourite in porridge, I don't tend to like them as much with other things. But this flavour goes great in coffee, great in porridge, great in hot chocolate, great on ice cream, and I'd be willing to try it in other ways too, it seems to go with everything really well. I love it.
I have been a lover of cherries all my life, this syrup is wonderful, I use it on my vanilla ice cream and turn a plain thick shake into a cherry bliss.
I actually haven't tried the cherry flavour in coffee yet...but I will say it's brilliant mixed with soda water and a few ice cubes, especially in summer!!! Makes a great fizzy refreshing - and sweet - drink for those late afternoon relaxations on the patio, listening to the birds. :)
I was hesitant initially as I use these syrups purely for coffee, and as a huge cherry fan I wasn't sure it would suit coffee, but alas I was wrong. It's by far my favourite syrup flavour!
How To Use: From Your Morning Latte to Afternoon Shake
Black cherry syrup is one of those flavours that plays well with pretty much everything. Here's how to get the most out of it.
In your coffee
Add 15 mL of black cherry syrup to your cup before pulling your shot.
Pour your espresso over the top, stir, and add steamed milk if you're making a latte.
For an iced version, pour everything over ice and top with cold milk. Simple.
In a milkshake or frappe
Add 15–30 mL of syrup to your blender with milk and ice (or ice cream if you're going all in).
Blend until smooth. Taste. Add more syrup if you want it stronger.
A scoop of vanilla ice cream in there takes it to another level entirely.
As a topping or drizzle
Drizzle straight over ice cream, pancakes, or yoghurt.
It also works as a base for a homemade coffee syrup drink just mix with sparkling water for a quick cherry soda.
Tasting Notes
The first thing you get is that deep, dark cherry, the kind that actually tastes like the fruit rather than a lolly. It's rich without being heavy, and there's just enough sweetness to balance things out without turning your coffee into dessert. The fruity finish lingers a bit, which is part of what makes it so good in milk-based drinks, the creaminess softens the tartness just enough. Try it in a flat white or an iced latte and you'll see what we mean.
If you're a fan of chocolate coffee syrups you'll likely love this one too. Black cherry and chocolate are old mates, throw a pump of each in together if you want something really indulgent.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much black cherry syrup should I use in my coffee?
Start with 15 mL, that's about one standard pump. It's a pretty bold flavour, so less is more to begin with. If you want it stronger, go to 20–25 mL. For iced drinks or milkshakes where the ice or milk dilutes things a bit, you'll probably want closer to 30 mL.
Does it work in cold brew or iced coffee?
Yes, and it's really good. The cherry flavour holds up well in cold drinks, probably better than in hot ones, honestly. Add 15–30 mL to your cold brew, pour over ice, and top with milk or cream. For more ideas, check out our coffee syrup recipes.
How many serves are in a bottle?
Roughly 50 serves at the standard 15 mL pour. If you're using it as a drizzle or topping rather than stirring it through, it'll stretch even further.
Can I use it in things other than coffee?
Definitely. This cherry coffee syrup goes brilliantly in milkshakes, over ice cream, mixed into sparkling water as a cordial, or drizzled over pancakes. It's one of the more versatile flavours in the Cashmere Syrups range.
What other syrups pair well with black cherry?
Chocolate is the obvious one; it's a classic combo. Vanilla works well too if you want something a bit creamier and less sharp. Have a look at the full coffee syrup collection if you want to experiment.
