As we approach the end of January, most of us will be looking for ways to keep up this motivation through the rest of the year.
An easy way to stay motivated is to actually visualize the end goal of what you're working towards.
While working on a tedious or challenging task, it can be easy to lose sight of where you're going, and then lose motivation to keep working.
However, you can’t just close your eyes and imagine your end goal, then expect to hit it straight away.
Consistency is key!
Turning visualisation into an actual habit that works for you takes commitment.
Setting a few minutes aside each day, every two days, or even just when you are feeling down and out, to visualise your goals really goes a long way to achieving the end product.
Experts suggest either weaving this into your morning routine, or when you are specifically undergoing a task related to your goal.
This will make these sometimes tedious tasks seem a lot more bearable, and provide some much needed perspective!
Visualisation can help you stay driven
If you are starting to doubt yourself when it comes to achieving your goals, visualisation can help you stay driven and on track.
For example, a diet.
If you have a personal goal of sticking to a diet - try to picture yourself at your end goal, and how you will look, and how happy you will be for achieving what you set out to.
Or if you have a big project due at the end of the week, and you’re losing motivation to get it done on time or up to standard.
You can visualise yourself celebrating after its completion.
Visualisation can be applied to pretty much all parts of your life, and most people find it’s effects on their motivation are amazing!
This may not work for everyone, especially if you’re someone who struggles to picture things in your head.
If this is you, you can also write down or even draw emotions that are associated with your end goal.
